Carlow Youth Training is a community based training centre, offering quality training and self-development.  We are committed to ensuring that our learners are afforded the opportunity to develop their full potential. Training shall meet the needs of our learners and will encourage progression, leading to enhanced employment prospects, in a supportive community environment.

 The centre has a space at the Fairgreen Shopping Centre Carlow on Thurs 18th Oct 2018: 10 - 1.00pm and Fri 19th Oct 2018: 1.30 - 4.00pm, so why not come along and meet some of our staff and get more information on the courses we have on offer.

To qualify, young people must be:

  • Of current statutory school leaving age at the start of training, and not more than 21
  • Have left school at least three months. (Preference will be given to those who have no exam qualifications)
  • Willing to learn, train and be guided by the staff in the centre
  • Willing to take part in work experience

All our courses are full day time courses

A training allowance may be payable


What we offer

Training and certification leading to both QQI awards and VTCT awards

QQI (Quality and Qualifications Ireland) is an awarding body. They validate education and training programmes and make extensive awards in the Further Education and Training sector including in the Education and Training Boards.

VTCT (Vocational Training and Charitable Trust) is a leading international awarding organisation.  All of the VTCT courses we offer are at NVQ (National Vocational Qualifications) Level 2 which map across to QQI Level 4 on the NFQ (National Framework of Qualifications)
